I love my garden but my thumb is not so green. I had a beautiful green lush herb and vegetable garden flourishing on my deck last year but all that remains this year is a single strawberry stalk, well at least I think it is a strawberry stalk, it could very well be a weed!
With this gardening failure I went out and bought the dried bottled herb version to use in my cooking. They perform well and give the food taste but not the taste that fresh herbs seem to give. So in an effort to try to have the fresh herb taste without the ‘growing the herbs part’ I have been trying out Gourmet Garden Herbs and Spices in my cooking.
I have mentioned previously that I am no Chef but I can follow a recipe pretty well and I often add in or change a product in the recipe to make it even more tasty.
I received a large pack of Gourmet Garden products to try and started using the Basil straight away on the girls cheesy spaghetti. I replacing the dried Basil with the fresh and you could taste the difference straight away! and even better the girls ate it, OMG!!
When I found out I was pregnant with Eldest Mini Me I started shopping straight away. I started researching and comparing products and prices of all things we would need. I signed up to lots of baby store newsletters and loved getting the catalogues in the mail. One I particularly loved was the huge Baby catalogue from Big W. It was fantastic to look through when researching products and with so many pages I circled lots of fantastic products, lots we still use now. I remember just after Eldest Mini Me was born that the latest Big W Baby catalogue arrived in the mail and it couldn’t have been more perfectly timed. I distinctly remember being in lots of pain from trying to breast feed and our lovely new baby crying because she wasn’t getting enough breast milk. So I quickly sent Sparky out late night shopping to get some bottles that were in the catalogue, they were a savour for both me and bub!
The great news is now you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home to shop the nursery section at Big W or to even buy, as it can be delivered straight to your door. Perfect for any Mum-to-be or new Mum! Wish I had that around a few years ago. I also found when I was seeking my five fab finds that Big W has really extended their range and have items in their nursery section I wouldn’t have thought to look for at Big W initially, now I know to check them out when we have baby #3, hint, hint Sparky, haha only joking….maybe!
I have such a weakness for Moses Baskets. I adore the look and wish we had one for the girls when they were little. I think they are perfect for carrying them to different rooms around the house or when visiting friends especially when they are teeny tiny. For the price of $98! it is amazing value and I can just imagine it filled with baby essentials as the ultimate baby shower or new baby gift! My 28 Day Challenge has started. The challenge to reduce those wrinkly little lines next to my eyes, better known by the lovely name of crows feet. In my head I am still in my 20′s but my skin tells a different story, *insert sob*, and the reality is I am in my 30′s and life has taken its toll on my skin with the appearance of fine wrinkles over the last few years.
So given the chance to try something that is designed to reduce the look of those lovely Crows Feet I thought why not! Garnier’s Skin Naturals UltraLift is the Anti-Wrinkle Firming Cream that in 28 days is meant to help you lose one grade of wrinkles and comes with its very own Wrinkle Ruler.
The Wrinkle Ruler is a smart little idea that helps you gauge how your current crows feet compare to the 10 crows feet images on the wrinkle ruler and then you can compare them again after trying out the UltraLift for 28 days. The Wrinkle ruler was created by analysing 3500 images of more than 500 people aged 18-75, so a fair amount of work has gone into the Wrinkle Ruler to give a fair cross-section of wrinkles and give you the closest look to your crows feet. We are big denim fans in our house. It is a classical look (although it has gone through some radical changes over the years like stonewash!), it is comfortable, it can be dressed up or down, a staple in the wardrobe for the whole family and it is hard-wearing, making it perfect for kids!
Havoc Denim takes the classic denim and each season creates a new range of gorgeous children clothes, that gives our little ones the latest styles while providing clothes that will last for years and will be guaranteed to be handed down or handed on.
Havoc Denim have styles for boys, girls and babies and I am loving the look of the cool Jackets and Hoodies for the boys this winter. The Maceio Crop Hoodie looks warm and trendy, perfect for boys wanting to look cool and stay warm.
While the girls can look trendy and hip in this Allegra Ruffle Dress. Teamed with leggings, a jacket and perhaps a long sleeve shirt for those really cool days, girls will be warm and certainly stylish. A classic style that can be worn for years.
When Milk was first launched I remember reading about Michael Klim and his gorgeous wife Lindy creating a natural Australian made product line with interesting names like Snotty Grotty, Stinky Winky and Nighty Night. The two combined made it a very memorable product range and I would instantly think Michael Klim when I saw the products on the shelves at Woolworths, Myer, Coles and pharmacies.
Some of the baby products that have fun names like Nighty Night, Snotty Grotty and Stinky Winky
However until recently I hadn’t actually tried anything in the Milk range but, as I have mentioned in the past, since having Princess Mini Me and having a baby with sensitive skin I have been seeking out and trying lots of natural products. So given the opportunity to try some of the Milk range I couldn’t resist.
Australian Girl® Dolls are growing and growing in popularity, so much so, that some of the dolls including Matilda, Belle and Jasmine have completely sold out for the moment.
Check out this fantastic photo of the largest gathering of Australian Girl® Dolls and their owners.
I think Australian Girl® Dolls are the ideal doll for all little girls, tweens and Mini Me. I love the fact that all the dolls are dressed age appropriately in fun clothes, portray a healthy body image, have pleasant faces that looks like a little girl and have their own distinct personalities. Ever since Mini Me saw Peppa Pig and Rebecca Rabbit ice skating she has been asking about going ice skating. When we traveled to the snow in the USA earlier in the year she wanted desperately to go ice skating but there were none near by. So when asked if we wanted to meet Mickey Mouse and some of the team from Disney On Ice I new Mini Me would be so excited!!
Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate is coming to Brisbane at the end of June but is touring to many major city throughout June and July. Since Mini Me has a fascination with ice skating and tickets starting at $28.50 I think we will be going to see Mickey, Minnie and up to 50 of Disney characters dancing up an ice storm.
Here is a little video of the Disney On Ice: Let’s Celebrate so you can see how bright and fun I think it will be!
Craft is big business in our house. Eldest Mini Me spends a minimum of an hour a day, cutting, gluing, drawing, sticking and building her creations. It is fantastic imaginative and problem solving play and her creations change and evolve daily. We may have dozens of her creations all of the house but I know these craft creations won’t last forever and I cherish each one.
Since Eldest Mini Me is a super crafty kid she was super excited to try out the NEW FairyLites Minis and couldn’t stop asking about making them until the packets were open.
FairyLites have been around for a while and you may have either seen or bought some of the FairyLites range in the past. However the FairyLites Minis are an entire new collection of crafts that are, well, Mini in pack size but big in craft activities. With the exception of the Make Your Own Fairy Headband, all the crafts have multiples of the same craft to make. For us this makes them really good value for money as they are not a one hit wonder and we could save the extras for another day, especially since they come in resealable packets.
There are 4 new crafts in the FairyLites Minis Collection including Glitter Art, Make a Fairy Headband, Shrinky Charm Bracelets and Rhinestone Mosaic Magnets. They all have age suggestions on the packet which I would say are pretty accurate and they do vary in their difficulty. Also all the crafts are different so you know if you are buying two or more different ones the kids will be sure to have something new to do each time.
To me there is nothing better than getting a surprise from a friend in the mail. It could be something small or something big but it is knowing they thought of me that makes it so special and wonderful. It warms the heart!
It is so easy in fact that all you have to do is some typing! You don’t even need to get out of your seat.
Kleenex are giving you the chance to Share the Softness with loved ones and friends this Winter by sending them a personalised sample box of tissues! and if they are a really nice friend and you let them know about the Share the Softness program hopefully they will send you a box too!
It only takes a moment to complete the 4 steps and can be done either on Facebook or on the Kleenex website here.
You will know from previous posts that the Mini Mes love Zhu Zhu Pets.
They bring on squeals of joy, heart warming giggling and lots of running around after the Zhu Zhu’s!
We own several Zhu Zhu guinea pigs but not any Zhu Zhu puppies and when I told Eldest Mini Me she would be getting a puppy and showed her the pictures, she was very excited! (this is the closest she will get to a real dog for a while yet!)
Thanks to Sports and Toys Mini Me was given a Zhu Zhu Puppies Play Pack, which is currently on a huge sale for $35 plus $12 postage but is worth $110!
There have been some amazing sales in the last year for Zhu Zhu Pets but this one really is amazing!
